LIFE ON A POSTCARD (2006)
produced by Michael Friedman
Every song, indeed the whole CD, is a postcard sent to a friend.

"It's REALLY GOOD. I especially like the first (Sorrow in Your Heart) and last (Time and You), and especially the last. I played that track in the van about six times in a row."
Peter Chapin, Producer (Beyond the Stars)

"I think your producer really caught your voice...and I have been playing Margaret (Sweetland Street) over and over in the car. My fave so far." Ian Tamblyn, Producer (One Candle Burning, Levels of Survival)

"Like fine old wine, Bob's writing gets better the more time he spends on the planet. This CD contains the best production values and performances to date." Terry Tufts, Singer-Songwriter

"(Bob's) voice sounds great and the overall sound is warm and soothing. I like track #4 (Sweetland Street) best right now..."
Chris MacLean, Singer-Songwriter

"Sounds great..." Charlie Sohmer, Singer-Songwriter

LOVE SONGS FOR BUREAUCRATS (2000)
Bob's first recording done in Vancouver, BC, featuring a whole new cast of musical characters and produced by Michael Friedman.

"..... the plainness of his melodies and delivery sometimes recalls that of Leonard Cohen, Bruce Cockburn, or Mark Knopfler. His lack of irony as a writer is refreshing, although the record is not without wit or edge. This release is filled with allusions to language stylists from John Keats to Joni Mitchell..... a pleasingly appropriate, if lower-key companion to Jackson Browne's Lawyers in Love."
Ken Eisner, The Georgia Straight, Vancouver, BC

"good quality songs .... I hear a flavour comparable with Ian Tamblyn... .....but also some slightly British influence from Nick Drake. ..... ...it's indeed a sunny summer album...."
Rein van den Berg, Realrootscafe, The Netherlands

ONE CANDLE BURNING (1994)
Produced by Ian Tamblyn

'One Candle Burning" was voted the number one "local" release of the year and was also included in one reviewer's over-all Top 10 of the year - Ottawa X Press magazine, Ottawa, ON.

From the cowboy rodeo of the western prairie to a Belfast graveyard, from the mountains of Iraq to the sailing of the seven seas, Stark presents an eclectic mix of both geography and musical styles. There is romance, tragedy, dreams and loss of dreams. Each song, however, contains one candle burning....life should never lose its sense of hope. To date, there has been no recorded discovery of the bottle tossed into the Rideau Canal ("This Love for Thee").

"A brilliant piece of work" Chopper McKinnon, CBC Radio/ "Canadian Spaces", CKCU-FM, Ottawa, ON

"The best material has a comforting familiarity, like an old folk song or lullabye. The country-flavoured 'Funny Old World' and the simple Celtic sing-along 'Irish Dust' are two such songs"
Lynn Saxberg, The Ottawa Citizen

"....the stirring 'Irish Dust' is a stand-out that puts U2's 'Sunday Bloody Sunday' to shame...this collection of subtle, heartfelt songs brings him a significant step closer to... (being)...amongst the best singer-songwriters on the Canadina circuit today."
Joe Reilly, Trans FM, Radio Carleton, Ottawa, ON.

"...a beautifully-rendered cache of contemplative materials which deserves to be taken to heart alongside the best works of Gordon Lightfoot and Stephen Fearing... (the album) is filled with uncommonly fine writing, songs which are able to simultaneously project intimate concerns of the heart on top of a compassionate world view....a coherent celebration of human dignity and forebearance...listening to 'One Candle Burning' is like hearing stories from a stranger on a long train journey - by the end of the trip, you're enriched and feeling a little less alone in the world." Peter Schneider, Ottawa X Press magazine, Ottawa, ON.

"..a strong album of folk material that could find its way onto late night FM time slots..." - RPM magazine. "..he has a full, rich voice, and the material is well-produced, with nicely crafted arrangements....in terms of lyrics, there is some angst, some optimism, some regret, some celebration. But in the end, Stark always leaves the candle burning."
Dirty Linen magazine.

LEVELS OF SURVIVAL (1991)
Produced by Ian Tamblyn

"Stark's political statements are sometimes blunt. This could be overbearing, but it is not. Instead, he seduces the listener into the rhythm of his song writing. The structures are clean, well-honed, and economical. There's no flab." **** Evelyn Erskine, Ottawa Citizen

".... Stark...presents a set of cautionary tales about the hazards of the modern world in a non-preachy electric setting. I normally don't like this kind of song writing but Stark does such a good job of it and his music is so enjoyable, he's won me over. A nice set."
Jim Lee, Dirty Linen Magazine

"....reveals a different side of Bob Stark, one that has returned to the roots of 60's protest music but with a bitter 90's edge." Sandra Abma, Performance, CBC Radio

"..a sense of quiet outrage..." Kath Thompson, CHEZ-FM, Ottawa

"...a great album!" Peter Schneider, Program Director, CKCU-FM, Ottawa, ON

"...prophetic lyrics." Lynn Sloan, Trans FM magazine, Radio Carleton, Ottawa, ON

BEYOND THE STARS (1988)
Produced by Peter Chapin

"..what impressed me most was the strength of the melodies." - Steve Colwill, Music director, CHEZ-FM, Ottawa, ON "real song writing depth"
Brian Perkins, Program Director, CHEQ-FM, Smith Falls, ON.
